The calendars provided above are for measures to be added to elections held in 2026. Measures may be requested to be combined with specific set elections or requested as a stand-alone Special Election. Election dates are established in accordance with Elections Codes 1000, 1001, and 1405 to be held on specific dates. Holding a stand-alone election is costly for a jurisdiction; Primary and General elections are shared-cost elections thus reducing cost amounts based on number of contests and ballot types. The calendars provide E-dates which are the number of dates before Election Day in which each item is due, and can be used to determine due dates for any other allowable election for which a measure is wanting to be set.
Request for Cost Estimates
Please contact Inyo Elections at elections@inyocounty.us to request a cost estimate and include your eligibility status. Please be advised that cost estimates are based on projected registration and available information, and are subject to change upon final billing following an election.
Be aware that when requesting cost estimates or calling for an election the ROV is not responsible for determining if a jurisdiction can hold an election as we cannot give legal advice; consequently, jurisdictions are encouraged to seek advice through their legal counsel.
The following factors are calculated into estimates: Cost of ballot and voter guide design, supplies, and mailing costs; equipment, general supplies, and logistics; programming and management of tabulation equipment; staffing including employees’ direct services and temporary election workers; outreach and communications; and all direct election-related expenses for time and material incurred by Inyo County.
