Inyo Elections
Proposition 50 Passed. Now what?
While Proposition 50 passed in November 2025 and officially redrew California’s congressional district maps with new legislatively drawn maps, the new boundaries are to be used for every congressional election between now and the next census redistricting process in 2031. The new districts for purpose of representation do not take effect until a new representative is elected by the voters within the new district.
Congressional District 3 representative, Kevin Kiley, continues to represent the voters that he was elected by, including Inyo County, for the remainder of his full-term ending January 3, 2027.
The 2026 primary and general election ballots in Inyo County will have candidates for the new Congressional District 5. The winner of that race will become our official representative when the new Congress is sworn in on January 3, 2027.
